Home is my Sanctuary

I’ve always had an instinctive ability to design and style things (thanks mom) but it wasn’t until my late twenties that I started to create a living space that I could call a sanctuary— probably because I finally had a decent income and a home that could fit more than two people in it. Come inside…

The holidays are upon us and despite hosting Thanksgiving (a.k.a cooking/cleaning marathon), I had to make sure my guests could eat in style. Amazingly, I had all the decor already living somewhere in my apartment so I only had to purchase flowers.

I’m a millennial so it was only a matter of time until I embraced my inner plant-lady. I currently have 15 plants in my apartment and I honestly could, easily, double that. Not only are they an instant upgrade to the overall decor but they improve the air quality significantly— at least that’s what I tell myself to justify purchasing them. I’m also that creepy plant-lady that names each plant— the palm above is named Kimchi and the peace lily below is Brian. In the spirit of balance, I also have a collection of faux flowers that have ended up on top of my bar/armoire…bar-moire (hehe)— I love how fun and spring-y it makes the shelf look. If I’m ever stressed this colorful corner always lifts me up— did I also mention that this is where we keep the wine?!
